San Biagio Platani, located on a slope overlooking the valleys of the Platani and Turvoli rivers, rises in an area rich in the cultivation of pistachios, almonds, cereals and olive trees.
Its origins date back to 1635, the year in which Giovanni Battista Gerardi obtained the licentia populandi. Thus it was that the first residential nucleus was born around the Palazzo Ducale and the Mother Church.
San Biagio Platani is known as the town of the arches of Easter, due to an ancient tradition, which its origins in the eighteenth century, and which is renewed every year at Easter.
