Butera

Butera is a village located on a rocky spur overlooking the fertile plain of Gela.
Butera was built in 200 BC from Bute, first king of the Sicilians, who gave the city its name.
Butera is a place rich in artistical and historical testimonies and a place of considerable landscape interest. It was among the most important cities of Sicily in the Middle Ages.
Butera is appreciated for the beach of its Marina: a long stretch of fine sand with a dune system of rare beauty and a clear and crystalline sea.
