Valledolmo is a small village nestled on the slopes of Pizzo Sampieri, at the foot of the south-western Madonie.
The first inhabited nucleus dates back to 1600 and consisted of the federal palace, the church, four mills and a few houses. In 1650, Count Giuseppe Mario Cutelli obtained the licentia populandi and the town developed following a regular checkerboard pattern.
