Torretta stands on the slopes of Mount Canalicchi, not far from the Tyrrhenian Sea and the city of Palermo.
It was officially founded in 1599 by the noble Arrigo Traina and throughout its history, first as a fiefdom and then as a barony, it has had the prerogative of belonging to some of the most illustrious families in Sicily: Grifeo, Santapau, Traina and Tomasi di Lampedusa.
Of significant interest is the artistic heritage of this small center enclosed in the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie and in the treasures of art preserved in it.
