The origin of the town dates back to the 7th century and, during its history, it fell under Byzantine domination.
The small village preserves traces of its passed through its monuments, in particular through the ruins of its castle and the characteristic Arab dome.
The territory of Vicari is renowned for the cultivation of almonds, more than 10 varieties are grown.
