Parco Fluviale dell'Alcantara

kallerna - CC1.0

The Alcantara River Park contains one of the most important perennial streams in Sicily. The park extends for about 40 km of green banks, between suggestive lava gorges and extremely interesting plant endemisms. The main attraction of the Park are the Gorges: lava walls with basaltic prisms, up to ten meters high, which create very suggestive natural canyons.
The park offers the possibility to explore the gorges by taking part in numerous activities ranging from trekking along the paths that cross the protected area up to body rafting, bike tours, river trekking, tubing, river bug and even tastings of organic products.
