Piedimonte Etneo
Things to do, attractions, interesting facts

Area: Catania and Etna
Piedimonte Etneo rises on the slopes of Etna, on the eastern slope of the volcano.
It was founded in the 17th century under the power of the Gravina Cruyllas family, and was originally called Belvedere by virtue of the beautiful views overlooking Mount Etna. The eighteenth century was a century of great urban growth for the village: numerous palaces, roads and buildings were built that still characterize it today.
Piedimonte Etneo is part of the Etna Park and preserves a great natural heritage.
