Things to do, attractions, interesting facts
Provincia: CT - Area: Catania and Etna
It is believed that the history of Ragalna begins with the Roman domination, it is in fact it is certain that Rome exploited the woods of Etna for the construction of its ships. However, the first evidence of the origin of Ragalna dates back only to the Norman era. From 1400 Ragalna became the property of the Moncada di Paternò family. It obtained its autonomy from Paternò on May 17, 1985.
Ragalna still hides and preserves ancient streets, places forgotten in the metropolitan memory, majestic millstones and trappeti, offers the possibility of excursions in millenary caves, where nature is still the only mistress.
