Acquaviva Platani
Things to do, attractions, interesting facts

Area: Central Sicily
The history of this village is very ancient, the first traces attesting to the presence of man date back to prehistoric times. The Romans first passed through these lands, and then the Berbers, who arrived from north-western Africa, who founded the Miknas farmhouse here. In the Middle Ages, the farmhouse became the Fief of Michilese and, in 1635, Prince Francesco Spadafora founded the current town.
The territory of Acquaviva Platani tells of its long history, the historic center houses monuments that bear witness to its ancient origins.
