San Fratello
Things to do, attractions, interesting facts

Area: Messina surroundings
Its origins are very ancient, it is believed that they can be found in the ancient Apollonia, a Greek city destroyed in the 3rd century BC. by Agathocles. The current inhabited area dates back to the 11th century when, at the behest of Adelasia, wife of Roger I, the city she founded was transferred and completely destroyed by a landslide in 1754, thus establishing a colony of Lombards.
The village is characterized by a particular regular road system, with houses built in smooth and squared stone and very valuable monuments.
Its territory falls within the Nebrodi Park, nature and the woods that surround it are almost entirely preserved in their natural state, giving fascinating glimpses.
